Austrian ArmeeKorps (Early-Mid War) ESR Box Set
During the Early War the Austrians continued to organize ad-hoc 'Columns' of highly variable size and composition. A Column was commonly made up of one or more infantry brigades, grouped with an Avant Garde Brigade containing line infantry, chevaulégèrs, and light artillery.
By the Mid War, the Austrians shifted to following the French model. Archduke Charles constructed a mixed arms Force of infantry, cavalry, and artillery. Unlike the French, cavalry was commonly parceled out to infantry divisions, instead of residing in its own Formation.
This Austrian Formation includes everything necessary to assemble an Austrian Column for the Early War or an Austrian ArmeeKorps for the Mid War, including a chevaulégèr or dragoon regiment that may be attached to either infantry division.
